Suspect in custody after shots fired at police during barricade: officials

A suspect is in custody after Philadelphia say he opened fire on officers who were responding to a 9-1-1 call in the city's Burholme neighborhood Friday morning. 

The arrest comes about two hours after police declared a barricade. 

No injuries have been reported. 

What we know:

Police responded to a call reporting a person with a gun near the 7500 block of Veree Road just before 7 a.m. Friday. 

The call indicated that an adult male was armed with a firearm. 

When police responded to the scene, authorities say the man opened fire on police officers through the front door.

Police say no officers were injured and no officers returned fire. Police declared a barricade at 7:09 a.m. 

SWAT has since responded to the scene. 

Police tell FOX 29 they were able to negotiate with the suspect and he exited the home and surrendered to police around 9 a.m. 

What we don't know:

Police have not released the suspects identity. He's only been described as a 59-year-old man. 

Officials have also not yet indicated if anyone else was inside the home at the time the shooting began.
