Stolen nativity scene returned to Italian Market

A nativity scene stolen 10 days before Christmas has been returned to the Italian Market's Visitor Center in South Philadelphia.

Surveillance video captured a man walking away with a portion of the holiday display near 9th and Catharine streets early Friday morning.

"The Grinch came last night and stole Christmas from 9th Street," Amber Volpe said of the incident.

The video shows a man turning off the lights and unplugging the music before driving away with Mary, Joseph and baby Jesus.

The Italian Market's Visitor Center confirmed Sunday afternoon that the nativity scene had been returned.

No further details have been released at this time.
