Masked Luigi Mangione spotted eating at McDonald's prior to Pennsylvania capture

Pennsylvania State Police have released new photos in the hopes of gathering more information in the case against alleged killer Luigi Mangione, and the slaying of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson.

One photo shows a masked Mangione eating what appears to be a hash brown at McDonald's, while he stands shoe-less in an Altoona jail cell in another.

"Law enforcement continues to seek the public’s help in gathering information on Luigi Mangione’s travel and recent whereabouts in Pennsylvania," state police said in a post on Tuesday.

New details about the murder of CEO Brian Thompson have emerged. Here is a breakdown of what we know about the murder suspect, Luigi Mangione, and how he is linked to Philadelphia and Maryland.

The 26-year-old University of Pennsylvania graduate was taken into custody at the pictured McDonald's in Altoona, Pennsylvania, on Monday after an employee tipped off police.

He is accused of shooting and killing UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson on the streets of Manhattan last week, before leading law enforcement on a 6-day manhunt from New York to Pennsylvania.

During Mangione's capture, police say they found a gun similar to the one used in the shooting, a silencer, fake IDs and writings that were critical of the health insurance industry in his backpack.

An exact timeline of Mangione's movements has yet to be released by police, but Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro said that he traveled between Philadelphia and Pittsburgh.

"We do have a good idea how he got from Philadelphia to Pittsburgh. But there are some gaps in time… it is likely he was in a variety of locations across the state, including Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, and points in between," said Lt. Col. George Bivens.

Mangione is currently facing several charges in Pennsylvania, where he remains in custody pending extradition to New York, where he has since been charged with murder.
