Suspects assault disabled man, post video to his Facebook page

PONTIAC, Mich. (FOX 2)- A cruel pair of thieves targets a disabled Detroit man. They're off the streets tonight, tracked down after taunting the victim online with the evidence of their crime.

It happened in the stairwell of the Phoenix Place apartments. The beating was caught on tape and then to add insult to injury, the video surfaced on the victim's Facebook page.

A vicious beat down, recorded with the victim's stolen phone and when it's done Frankie Santana is left out cold.

"He was laid out in the middle of the hallway," said Kadeem Clay, a friend of the victim.

"I crawled through the hallway and knocked on someone's door and that's how I got help," said Frankie Santana, the assault victim.

Santana has cerebral palsy; a disability that limits his movements. In regards to what happened he'll just tell you it wasn't a fair fight.

"They spit on me and stomped on me but nothing is broke, just the eye is messed up," said Santana.

He says he saw one of the two guys before, says they likely snuck into his gated apartment complex in downtown Pontiac and ambushed him for his phone. One of the two suspects even shows his face in the video before posting all over social media including Santana's page.

"Why would they do that and put it on Facebook. That's how you are going to get caught real quickly," said Santana.

Now we are getting a clear picture of both suspects, mug shots of Nikey Walker and Shadeed Bey.

Investigators say they were able to track down the suspects in part because they shared their crime with the world.

The Oakland County Sheriff said preying on those with disabilities will not be tolerated and added that posting this video on the victim's page is quote 'beyond belief'.

Both suspects are being held on home invasion, robbery, and assault charges.
