Teen in car shot, drives himself to hospital

A teenager is recovering after he was shot, overnight, and Philadelphia police released descriptions of two people they say are responsible.

They say the 17-year-old victim told them he was in a car with another person. It was at about 12:45am near the 5600 block of N. Lawrence Street.

That's when two attackers ran up from Chew Avenue to each side of the car.

One of them banged on the driver's side window, yelling for the victim to open the door. He refused and drove off towards Chew Avenue.

One of the men shot at the car, hitting the victim in his left shoulder.

He drove himself to St. Christopher's Hospital, where he was listed in stable condition.

Police are looking for the two men.

One is described as 18-21 years old, 5'11" to 6"1" tall, with a dark complexion. He was wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt and was armed with a black handgun.

The other is described as about 20 years old, 5'7" tall, with a dark complexion and a full beard. He was wearing a white t-shirt.
