Teen shot outside home with family sitting on the front steps

A 15-year-old is in critical but stable condition after he was shot multiple times outside his home in Lawncrest.

Police say they responded to a call of gunshots in the 400 block of Cheltenham Avenue just before 11:30 p.m. Sunday.

They found the teen suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to his torso, arms and legs.

They also say at least two shots were fired from two different semi caliber guns and found two separate size shell casings on the sidewalk.

The gunmen were last seen in a vehicle heading south on Hasbrook Avenue from Cheltenham.

The teen has been undergoing surgery and is expected to survive.

According to the Philadelphia Police Department's Chief Inspector Scott Small, "This 15-year-old victim was shot right outside of his home. Family members were actually sitting on the front steps just enjoying the evening when the shooting occurred. So they have witnesses right now and they've been transported to Northeast Detectives."

Police add, he was shot so many times in his torso, arms and legs it appears he was the intended target.

Northeast Detectives is processing the crime scene and talking to witnesses. They say there are no arrests or motive at this time.
