This water's for you! Brewery stops production, cans drinking water
CARTERSVILLE, Ga. - They stopped bottling beer and started bottling water at the Anheuser-Busch plant in Cartersville this week.
The company said it filled more than 450,000 cans of emergency drinking water which will be sent to coasts of Georgia and Florida ahead of Hurricane Matthew. Nine trucks full of canned water will be leaving the Cartersville plant.
The shipments are headed to Union City in Georgia and Deerfield Beach, West Palm Beach, Fort Pierce, Orlando, Melbourne and Daytona Beach in Florida.
Anheuser-Busch often will make donations of specially canned drinking water during times of natural disasters. The company said it donated over 1 million cans of emergency drinking earlier in the year in response to the severe flooding in Louisiana.
