A recall issued for tens of thousands of treadmills has expanded to include more models, according to a Consumer Product Safety Commission alert.
The treadmills’ power cord could become loose from the power socket and post a fire hazard.
Johnson Health Tech America treadmills recalled
Dig deeper:
The treadmills involved in the recall include Matrix Retail models:
- T30
- TF30
- T50
- TF50
- T75
By the numbers:
About 47,000 treadmills are involved in the recall.
The running platform on the treadmills measures 60 inches long by 20 inches wide and the console is 33 inches wide. The defective treadmills have a power cord that has no bracket.
The treadmills should have either "Matrix" or "Vision" printed on the machine itself and the running belt.
To locate the model number, look at the lower front crossbar near the power switch.
The serial numbers should include the letters TM, a three-digit model number and the date it was manufactured. That should be followed by another five-digit serial number.
The impacted treadmills were manufactured from June 2007 through January 2024, the CPSC said.
Big picture view:
So far, there have been 27 reports of overheating where the power cord socket is located. And as of this report, there have been no injuries.
