Woman shot in Wilmington Sunday evening

WILMINGTON (WTXF) - Officials in Wilmington are investigating a shooting that happened in the city on Sunday evening.

The incident occurred on the 100 block of S. Franklin Street at 7:11 p.m.

According to a press release, police arrived to the scene after a shot spotter alert.

They found a 25-year-old female victim suffering from a gunshot wound to the right leg.

She was treated on scene by paramedics and taken to Christiana Hospital in stable condition.

The investigation remains ongoing.
