Woman stabbed man breaking into her West Philadelphia home: police
PHILADELPHIA - A man is in custody after police say he broke into a woman's apartment in West Philadelphia before getting stabbed.
What we know:
Police responded to reports of a person with a weapon on the 800 block of North 44th Street just before 5:30 a.m. Thursday.
They arrived to find a 45-year-old man stabbed in the back.
He was placed in police custody after being taken to a local hospital in stable condition.
The backstory:
Police say the man forced his way into the apartment, breaking the door's dead bolt.
That's when a 24-year-old woman stabbed him in what is being deemed a domestic incident by authorities.
What we don't know:
The relationship between the man and woman is still unknown, and charges have yet to be announced.
