16-year-old shot in the face in West Philadelphia

A shooting near a SEPTA station left a teen boy with a gunshot wound to the face.

Another teen boy became the victim of gun violence when police say a shooting erupted at a SEPTA station in West Philadelphia Friday night.

Officers arrived to find the 16-year-old with a gunshot wound to the face near 52nd and Market streets around 10:30 p.m.

Police say he was shot in the face while sitting on the steps of the 52nd Street Septa station. 

MORE HEADLINES:

The teen was transported to Childrens's Hospital of Philadelphia, where he was placed in critical condition.

Police say the suspect fled, and no arrests have been made. No weapon recovered.
