$1M winning scratch-off ticket sold at Philadelphia grocery store

Someone in Philadelphia is a whole lot richer!

Lottery officials reported that a $1M winning scratch-off ticket was recently sold at a Philadelphia-area ShopRite.

What we know:

The $1M winning stretch-off ticket was sold at the ShopRite of Parkside on the 1500 block of North 52nd Street in West Philadelphia.

The ShopRite, which is owned by former Philadelphia mayoral candidate Jeff Brown, will receive a $5,000 bonus for selling the ticket.

The Pennsylvania lottery has reminded players that scratch-off prizes expire one-year from the game's end-sale date posted on their website.

Winners are encouraged to immediately sign the back of their ticket and contact the lottery if they have won a substantial amount of money.
