3 injured following serious head-on crash in Del.
MIDDLETOWN, Del. (WTXF) - Police are investigating following a serious crash that left three people hospitalized in Middletown, Del. overnight.
Just after midnight on Friday, officers responded to the scene on Route 1 near Pole Bridge Road.
Police say a 24-year-old Wilmington woman driving a 2006 Chevrolet Malibu was traveling southbound in the northbound lanes when she struck a 2016 Nissan Pathfinder.
A 39-year-old woman from North Carolina, who was behind the wheel of the Nissan, was transported to Christiana Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. A 41-year-old North Carolina man, who was a passenger in the Nissan, was transported to the hospital with serious injuries. Police say he was not wearing a seatbelt.
The woman operating the Chevrolet was transported to the hospital with serious injuries. Impairment is being considered as a factor on her behalf.
No arrests have been made at this time. This is an ongoing investigation.
