A change in Philadelphia's weather means folks are out enjoying the sun
PHILADELPHIA (WTXF) - It looked like another busted weekend until the sun finally broke through at the last minute Sunday afternoon.
Folks reveled in all the sunshine they could get.
"I like this. This is nice, I love it," said William Gordon.
Gordon, complete with camera, and his family have been waiting for this weather more than a week. They're not the only ones.
Finally able to wear those sunglasses, but it caught most folks off guard.
"It came down in a downpour for a while there," said Kathleen Lotta.
"But, it just brightened up and brightened up pretty well," said Letitia Gordon.
Many people just shifted gears and rolled right along with the niceness, even if they found themselves over dressed for the sun.
"I was wearing a hoodie, but it started getting hot," said John-Lee Lauber.
"It's really mixed up. Rains a lot, stops, sun. Then it's gonna get cold again. It's weird weather," said Shaniya Gordon.
"You don't know what to wear for this, but I hope for a change that's gonna change for good and we get real summer now," William Gordon said.
Folks descended on Penn's Landing in order to enjoy a bit more of the weekend. People are skating because the rink is finally dry after days of rain. The Ferris wheel is rolling with folks taking rides.
Meanwhile, Kelly Drive was filled with joggers and walkers, taking advantage of the good weather that opened up.
