AAA: Expect a big drop in gas prices this fall

Buckle up and get ready to save some cold hard cash at the pump this fall!

AAA says they expect to see a large decrease in gas prices.

The national gasoline price is likely to average $2.70 per gallon this fall. That would be down from the current prices of around $2.84.

A spokesperson for AAA says the savings will be due to "cheaper to produce gasoline and relatively stable crude oil prices in August."

Gas demands across the country begin to decrease closer to September as school start back up and summer vacations end.

This year's record-high average gas price was set in May at $2.97.
