After 32 years, McDonald's employee with Down Syndrome retires

NEEDHAM, Mass. (FOX 13) - A longtime employee of McDonald's retired and the restaurant threw her a big party Monday.

Freia David has worked at the Needham, Massachusetts McDonald's for 32 years. Freia has Down Syndrome and has worked at the location's fry station since she was a young girl.

Rumor has it, her French fries are among the world's best, so her store is giving everyone a free order of French fries during her retirement party.

Freia got the job through a partnership between McDonald's and the Charles River Center, a non-profit that helps adults like Freia get job training and live healthy, productive lives. McDonald's was one of the first companies to sign-on to the partnership with the Charles River Center.

So this Monday, the town is gathered at the Chestnut Street McDonald's to wish Freia well as she embarks on her new adventure of retirement, and to thank her for years of hard work and dedication
