Arrest Made For False Tainted Candy Report in Gloucester Township

Following reports in Kennett Square of children receiving Halloween candy with sewing needles inside, police in another part of the region have made an arrest for a similar- but false- report.

Gloucester Township Police announced Monday that after responding to a report from a resident who claimed to have found four sewing needles in four separate pieces of candy, they determined that the man had made up the story, having placed the needles in the candy himself.

The man- Robert Ledrew, 37, of Blackwood, was arrested and charged with making a false police report and released on a criminal summons pending court date.
