Atlanta teen spends birthday feeding the homeless

Usually a sweet 16th birthday is all about huge parties, presents and too much stuff, but one Atlanta teen used her birthday to do something good for her community.

For her 16th birthday on Sunday Ari Hawkins told her family to forget about gifts. Instead she wanted to use the money to pay for a potluck meal to feed Atlanta's homeless men and women.

The event, which she called "The Sweetest 16 Potluck" was held in Atlanta's Woodruff Park on Sunday afternoon.

Ari made more than 100 care bags full of socks, underwear, and more to pass out to women at the event.

Ari even paid for the permit to hold the event.
