Baby boom: Phoenix firefighters welcome 8 babies within months of each other
PHOENIX, Ariz. (KSAZ) - It's a baby boom! A group of friends, that also happen to all work as firefighters for the Phoenix Fire Department, took a photo of their new babies that's getting a lot of attention.
"There were several of us at any given time, I'd have to say there were about six of us female firefighters at the time," said Morgan Dresser, Phoenix firefighter.
Call it a baby boom at the Phoenix Fire Department.
"They guy who took my spot had twins, the guy on the A shift he had twins and then the captain on C shift had a boy, that was all the babies at our station," said Jennifer Bittner, Phoenix firefighter.
The group of friends, who all work as firefighters, thought it would be a cute idea to get a picture of all their babies together.
They hired birth photographer Alana Penrod with Wild Bird Photography to snap the photo.
"Everyone was having such a fun time, every parent was dangling keys or clapping to have their babies look at me and I was making noises and we got some good shots of all the babies looking one way," said photographer Alana Penrod.
Little did anyone know the attention the final photo would receive being shared thousands of times on social media.
"It definitely got a lot of attention real fast," said Penrod.
The parents say it's a wonderful moment to have, and Penrod says she's just glad she could capture the special moment.
"It's just nice to see that it's a well liked photo, it's nice to have that work pay off," says Penrod.
Now, because the photo has received so much attention, the friends want to send out a department wide email to anyone who had a baby in 2018 to create a picture with all the babies born this year.
They already plan on using a ladder truck to get the best vantage point for the photo.
