Baby Rescued From Fire That Claimed The Lives of Two
VESTAVIA HILLS, AL- Fire rips through nearly a dozen units in an Alabama apartment building.
Video shows paramedics rescuing and handing off a baby.
The four-month old was suddenly placed in Anna Reeves' hands.
She says she was looking at the fire late Thursday night when she felt a tap on her shoulder.
The next thing she knew, she was being handed a baby.
The young child and its entire family barely made it out of their burning apartment.
Crews say they had to breach a cinder block wall and saw through, to rescue the parents and three kids.
They're all okay, and Reeves says the whole thing was emotionally challenging.
"Obviously being a mom of two young kids, it really affects you but you have to put your emotions aside. I mean, this is what we train for year round. When I first got home, I of course seen my two children and I just wanted to hug 'em and love on 'em," Reeves said.
Eight people ended up going to the hospital for treatment.
Two women died in the fire, a 62 and 52 year old. Each was found in separate units.
