Barrow County couple accused of abusing 3-week-old baby

BARROW COUNTY, Ga. (FOX 5 Atlanta) - Two Winder, Georgia parents have been arrested after deputies say they are guilty of abusing their 3-week-old infant.

According to the Barrow County Sheriff's Office, deputies were called to Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Barrow after the hospital reported an infant with "multiple broken bones."

During the investigation, officials say they discovered the infant was "being abused" and had received numerous broken bones and other injuries.

Deputies arrested 20-year-old Jarrett McCloud and 22-year-old Megan Richmond for aggravated battery and first-degree cruelty to children.

McCloud has also been charged with reckless conduct.

The investigation is ongoing. Officials say more charges for the couple are likely.
