Boston SWAT team asks for help finding missing cat

BOSTON, MA -- Members of the Boston Police Special Weapons and Tactics team are trained to handle any type of situation, armed with assault weapons. But they're showing a softer side, asking the public for help in finding their unofficial mascot, SWAT Cat.

The female stray cat is black, orange, and white, and started stopping by the department's Special Operations Unit headquarters in Roxbury a couple of years ago. Quickly named SWAT Cat, this feline won the hearts of all the officers.

SWAT Cat was spayed and microchipped; the officers really took care of her. They fed her and even crafted a heated shelter outside of their building for her to sleep in.

But it's been a couple of weeks since they've seen her, and the officer's are starting to worry about their furry friend.

If you've seen a cat matching SWAT Cat's description in the Roxbury area near Warren Avenue, please let Boston police know.
