Boy, 17, shot to death on front steps of a home

SOUTHWEST PHILADELPHIA (WTXF/AP) - A teenager was shot and killed on the front steps of a Southwest Philadelphia home.

Tyshiem Chainey was struck three times in his torso on the 5900 block of Larchwood Avenue.

Police found the 17-year-old boy and he was pronounced dead shortly before midnight.

They said he lived a few blocks away from the house where he was found.

No arrests have been made, and the investigation into a motive is ongoing.
