Car strikes back of school bus in Wilmington
WILMINGTON, Del. (WTXF) - Emergency crews in Wilmington, Delaware were on the scene of a crash involving a school bus and a car early Friday morning.
The crash occurred near Boxwood Road and Centerville Road around 7 a.m.
A small sedan became wedged underneath the rear of a school bus. Officers learned that a maroon Mazda, driven by a 19-year-old female, had crashed into a school bus that was stopped along the side of Boxwood Rd. The bus was occupied by a 47-year-old male driver.
The driver of the school bus was transported to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Police say no students were on the bus.
The female driver of the Mazda was taken to an area hospital for non-life threatening injuries. It has been determined by police that alcohol was a factor in this accident.
