Cashless tolls being enforced at these bridges between Pennsylvania, New Jersey
Cash is no longer king for Pennsylvania and New Jersey drivers who frequently use several busy bridges in the area.
The Delaware River Joint Toll Bridge Commission has converted four highway bridges to strictly all-electronic toll collections starting Monday:
- Trenton-Morrisville (Route 1)
- Interstate-78
- Easton-Phillipsburg (Route 22)
- Delaware Water Gap (I-80)
The last cash toll was accepted at 11 p.m. Sunday, leaving motorists with only two toll payment options; toll by plate for $3, or E-ZPass for $1.50.
"TOLL BY PLATE rates are up to twice as much as E-ZPass rates due to the inherently higher costs of billing and processing payments," the DRJTBC said.
