Center City streets temporarily shut down for helicopter lift operation
PHILADELPHIA (FOX 29) - Due to construction involving a helicopter lift operation, several Center City streets will be closed to pedestrians on Sunday.
The roads will be closed from 4 a.m. until 3 p.m.
During construction, select SEPTA Bus Routes will operate on temporary detours, and access to the 15th Street Station concourse entrances and elevators on the Market-Frankford Line will be temporarily unavailable.
The Broad Street and Market-Frankford line will otherwise operate normally on both sides.
Trolley routes 10, 11, 12, 34 and 36 will bypass 19th Street in both directions. Most street-level entrances and exits will be closed. SEPTA says that riders can access the Center City Concourse at 13th Street and Market Street, or by using the City Hall Courtyard head houses.
The regional rail will operate on a normal schedule; however, street-level access to Suburban Station will only be available on JFK Boulevard from 16th-18th Streets.
SEPTA bus riders should plan for detours and delays on a number of routes in Center City.
