Chip Fattah sentenced to five years

Chip Fattah, son of Congressman Chaka Fattah, has been sentenced to five years in prison.

In addition to the prison sentence, Fattah was ordered to make restitution of $1,172,175 and a $2,125 special assessment, while also serving five years of supervised release.

The 33-year-old Fattah was convicted in November on 22 of 23 counts of bank and tax fraud. He represented himself at trial.

Fattah's father, the 11-term Democratic Congressman, is currently set to stand trial on a separate federal indictment, and is also seeking reelection.
