Cops: Man Shoots to Death Estranged Wife in Front of Their Six-Month-Old Twins
(INSIDE EDITION) - A young father in Ohio is behind bars after he allegedly shot to death his estranged wife in front of their six-month-old twins, who were strapped into the backseat of their mother's car, police said.
LaReece KeSean "Wally" Woods, 22, is being held in lieu of $1 million bail at the Wayne County Jail in northern Ohio. He confessed to police, investigators said. It is not clear whether he has been arraigned.
Emily Young, 24, was found slumped over the wheel of her car Thursday night when police arrived following 911 calls about shots being fired. She was pronounced dead at a nearby hospital.
Police said the couple, who were going to be divorced, had been talking after Young had brought the youngest of their three children to visit Woods.
Young was also carrying a 17-year-old in the passenger seat, who witnessed the shooting, officers said.
"They were having a conversation and at some point the husband became upset and that's when he fired multiple shots at his wife," said Orrville Police Chief Dino Carozza, according to the Akron Beacon Journal.
Besides twin girls, the couple also had a two-year-old daughter.
Young had obtained a protection order against Woods because of previous domestic abuse, police said.
He faces charges including aggravated murder, violating a protection order, endangering children and carrying a concealed weapon, according to authorities.
A GoFundMe account has been established for the children.
