Cops Pull Over Unsuspecting Drivers and Give Them $100 in Holiday Cash

(INSIDE EDITION) - An Oregon police department has been pulling over unsuspecting drivers in order to meet their quota...but not of what you think.

Holiday joy, not traffic tickets, was on the agenda Wednesday afternoon when officers from the Molalla Police Department began pulling over motorists and handing over $100 cash.

The officers were acting as little elves for an anonymous local business.

"Through the kind and generous gifting from our Secret Santa, a local business that chose to remain anonymous, Molalla Police Officers were able to serve as Santa's helpers and distribute $100 bills to a few unsuspecting citizens," Chief Rod Lucich wrote on Facebook.

The officers also took video of the lucky motorists as they received their gifts. Many became emotional.

One woman broke into tears when she received her $100, KATU reports.

"Oh my freaking goodness. I'm going to cry. I'm nine months pregnant," said the woman as her son in the passenger seat.

Another woman tearfully hugs the officer. And it's reactions like those that make the job so worthwhile for Molalla officers.

"With opportunities like these, it would be difficult to measure who feels more joy, the officers giving the gift or the unsuspecting recipient," Chief Lucich wrote.

"On behalf of the Molalla Police Department and our very special Secret Santa, may Joy, Peace and Safety be yours this holiday season."
