COPY-Police find remains of missing former track star in Hudson

TEANECK, N.J. (AP) - Police have found the body of a missing former University of Pennsylvania track star in the Hudson River.

Family members say 20-year-old Timothy Hamlett's remains were found Friday. The New York City Medical Examiner's Office says Hamlett died of "suicide by drowning." It's unclear how he ended up in the river or how long his body was there.

Hamlett's parents say they last saw their son on Dec. 26 when he said he was going to Manhattan. He wasn't seen or heard from again. Police found the Teaneck man's cellphone and wallet in Manhattan in January.

Hamlett was on leave from Penn at the time of his disappearance. Hamlett's family says his behavior changed after he began taking dietary and male-enhancement drugs.

His funeral is scheduled for June 12.
