Couple is honored for having the longest marriage in America and they eloped in Philly

CARLSBAD, CA - A Carlsbad, California couple is being honored as the longest married couple in America -- and they got hitched in Philly!

Maury and Helen Goosenberg have been married for 80 years!

The couple eloped in Philadelphia in 1935.

Surrounded by their children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren, they were honored Sunday by the group worldwide marriage encounter.

The ceremony included a congressional proclamation.

It was held at the la costa glen retirement community where they live...

What's their advice on going the distance?

Helen said, "A sense of humor is very important and just...liking each other very much. I think that's the main answer for everything."

Maury Goosenberg is 102 and Helen is just 100 years old.
