Couple leads cops on wild chase with 4-year-old girls in the back seat: Cops

A Southern California couple was arrested this week after cops say they took officers on a dangerous pursuit while two little girls sat in the back seat.

Anaheim police were staking out the home of Crystal Rincon Wednesday as part of an investigation into an alleged felony assault case when she and Juan Monzon pulled up in a vehicle before driving away, police said in a release.

When officers were unable to pull over the suspects, cops say they sped away with Rincon, 21, behind the wheel and 24-year-old Monzon in the passenger's seat.

Police say they later discovered two 4-year-old children, belonging to a relative of Rincon, were in the back.

Over the course of the afternoon pursuit, cops say the car become stuck in traffic, at which point Monzon and Rincon allegedly switched seats.

Monzon then allegedly evaded police by driving away on the wrong side of the road.

Police later tried to block the car with their vehicles, but said Monzon was able to escape by ramming them.

Following a collision with a car followed by another, cops say the vehicle finally came to a halt.

Rincon and Monzon were treated for injuries at an area hospital and later booked on attempted murder, assault with a firearm, child endangerment, felony evading and firearms charges.

The girls suffered minor injuries for which they were treated before being released to their mother, authorities said.
