Daycare owner charged in sex assaults of two children

Police have arrested the owner of a Center City, Philadelphia daycare after they say two young children were sexually assaulted.

The abuse was first reported back on July 25, when two 5-year-old children, a boy and a girl, say they were assaulted by the Sprouts Daycare owner while at the daycare on multiple occasions.

The Special Victim's Unit began investigating and identified the owner as a suspect as the owner of the daycare on the 600 block of South 9th Street.

Duncan Round, 53, of Medford Lakes, New Jersey has been arrested in connection with the assaults. Investigators say Round has owned and operated the daycare for about 10 years.

Round has been charged with rape, involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, and related charges.

"If any parents believe their children were victimized contact us here at Special Victims," Captain Mark Burgman of the said.

Round told police he lives in Medford Lakes, NJ. Investigators say the sexual assaults occurred on multiple occasions. Round surrendered to SVU investigators today. DHS was alerted on July 25.
