Deadly triple shooting erupts inside Philly ballroom with over 40 shots fired
PHILADELPHIA - One man is dead and two more are critically injured after a night of violence broke out at a business in East Frankfford on Monday.
What we know:
Two shooting victims were found outside when police responded to a ballroom on the 4600 block of Frankford Avenue around 10 p.m. Monday.
A 30-year-old man was shot in the leg and torso, and a 34-year-old man was suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to his lower body. Both were taken to local hospitals in critical condition.
Witnesses told police that a third victim, a 29-year-old man, was still inside.
He was found shot multiple times and taken to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
By the numbers:
More than 40 shell casings were recovered from the scene, a ballroom on the first floor of the building that also houses several bars and apartments.
Dozens of bullet holes were found in the walls and glass windows.
Police believe a shootout may have ensued after two handguns were found, including one underneath the deceased victim.
What we don't know:
A description of the shooter or shooters is not known at this time, along with the motive for the deadly shooting.
Police say they hope to gather more evidence from witnesses at the scene, along with cameras inside the ballroom.
