Delaware State Police mourn the loss of trooper
LEWES, Del. (WTXF) - Delaware State Police are mourning the loss of one of their own.
Master Cpl. William Matt, 54, died unexpectedly at his home Monday evening.
"It is with great sadness and a heavy heart that we announce the tragic loss of Master Corporal Matt. He was a dedicated trooper with a tireless work ethic," said Superintendent of the Delaware State Police, Col. Nathaniel McQueen Jr. "He absolutely loved being a trooper."
Matt, 29-year-veteran of the Delaware State Police, also served as a member of the United States Army.
