Delco man charged with two counts of child pornography

Philadelphia (WTXF) On Thursday, the US Attorney's Office for the eastern district of Pennsylvania charged a Delaware county man with two counts of child pornography.

63-year-old John Porter of Marple Township, PA, has been charged with two counts of child pornography, one count for the receipt of child pornography and the second for possession of child pornography.

The charges were announced by United States Attorney Zane David Memeger on Thursday. According to the Department of Justice press release, the illicit materials were received by Porter on July 24, 2014 and June 3, 2015.

If he is found guilty, Porter could face anywhere from five years in prison, the minimum sentence, to thirty years in prison, the maximum sentence. Additionally, he could be looking at a supervised release, a $200 special assessment, and a possible fine.

This case was part of the Project Safe Childhood initiative. This initiative, launched in 2006, looks to fight against the problem of child sex exploitation and abuse. For more information on this project go to www.projectsafechildhood.gov.
