Dog's final goodbye at owner's hospital bedside

It is never easy to say a final goodbye to a loved one, but a California hospital was kind enough to let a dog called Mollie bid farewell to her owner.

Ryan Jessen died on November 30 from a ventricular brain hemorrhage at the age of 33, his sister Michelle said on Facebook.

"The hospital did the sweetest thing for us and allowed us to bring my brother's dog in to "say goodbye" so she'd know why her human never came home. If you knew my brother, he really loved his sweet dog," Michelle said.

Mollie, Michelle wrote, will now know why Ryan will never come home.

She explained that though Ryan thought he just had a migraine, he actually suffered a ventricular brain hemorrhage. Michelle says that doctors believe it was caused by high blood pressure, and they speculate that frequently drinking energy drinks may have contributed.

Michelle also reassured commenters that Mollie will be staying with them as she is "part of the family."
