FBI: Fugitive who threatened President Trump back in Pa.
SCHUYLKILL COUNTY, Pa. (WTXF) - The FBI says the national manhunt for a 26-year-old who allegedly threatened President Donald Trump and other elected officials has returned to Pennsylvania.
The suspect, Shawn Christy, is originally from McAdoo in Schuylkill County. He has been on the run since June and is considered armed and dangerous.
The search for him has reached as far as Canada.
Sightings over the weekend drew alarm because of their proximity to Washington, D.C.
Marshals said Christy had been spotted in Cumberland, Md., on Sunday night, where he reportedly stole a pickup truck with Pennsylvania tags.
Now, authorities say they believe Christy has returned to Pennsylvania with that truck stolen from Western, Md. The truck was found Tuesday in Schuylkill County.
An FBI wanted poster says Christy was born in New Jersey, uses birthdates of Oct. 20 or 21, 1991, and uses a middle name of "Richard" or an "R" for his middle initial. He's described as being a white male with brown hair, green eyes, 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighing 165 pounds. He has a tattoo on his right arm.
"Christy allegedly posted the threats on Facebook between June 3 and 12, 2018, saying that he was going to shoot President Trump in the head, and was going to use "lethal force" on any law enforcement officer attempting to detain him," the FBI's wanted poster states.
Christy faces charges of "Interstate Communication of Threats" and "Threats Against the President of the United States."
