FBI: Man arrested in the kidnap and murder of Hania Aguilar
LUMBERTON, N.C. (FOX 46 CHARLOTTE) - The FBI announced they've made an arrest in the kidnapping and murder of 13-year old Hania Aguilar.
Lumberton Police and the FBI have taken into custody Michael Ray McLellan, 34. He was being held for charges unrelated to Hania's case, at the time of his arrest, authorities said.
McLellan has been charged with ten felonies on the following state charges;
First-degree murder, first-degree forcible rape, statutory rape of a person under 15 years of age or younger, first-degree sexual offense, statutory sex offense with a person 15 years or younger, first-degree kidnapping, felony larceny, felony restraint, abduction of a child, and concealment of a death.
Hania Aguilar was kidnapped from her driveway in the Rosewood Mobile Home Park in Lumberton on November 5, 2018. Her body was later located on November 27, 2018.
McLellan is currently being held in the Robeson County Detention Center without bond.
His first court appearance is expected to be at the Robeson County Courthouse at 9 a.m. Monday
