Federal Donuts offering freebies to government employees

As the partial government shutdown drags into its fourth week, many companies across the nation have started to offer assistance to over 800,000 furloughed federal employees.

In Philadelphia, local restaurants and museums have joined the cavalry to help those who have been without a paycheck since Dec. 21.

On Thursday, Federal Donuts announced via social media that any federal government employee can redeem a donut and cup of coffee, free of charge. Eligible participants just need to show a government identification card to take advantage of the offer.
