Girard Avenue water main break snarls traffic in Fishtown

FISHTOWN (WTXF) - Several businesses and homes are without water due to a main break in Fishtown.

Officials say the 30 inch main broke around midnight Wednesday night at Girard Avenue and Marlborough Street.

The street was shut down, including a day care, while crews started repairs.

The street closure was especially inconvenient for people on their way to work Thursday morning. Friday morning, Girard Avenue remained closed between Frankford and Columbia.
