Good Samaritans lift car off mother and children struck in hit-and-run

Philadelphia police are investigating a hit-and-run after a 36-year-old mother and her children were struck by a white Toyota while walking on the sidewalk on the 3200 block of Tyson Avenue in Mayfair.

It happened around 7 p.m. Tuesday.

Police say the mother and a 3-year-old girl were injured--the other child was not injured. Both victims have been transported to Jefferson-Torresdale Hospital where the mother is listed in stable condition and 3-year-old is in critical condition.

Police say the driver fled the scene on foot.

Six Good Samaritans lifted the car to get them out from underneath the vehicle, according to police.
