Gunman, 69, kills 2 neighbors in Frankford for allegedly jumping his fence

Police are investigating an overnight incident that left two dead in Frankford.

Just before 2 a.m. on Sunday on the 2700 block of James Street, a man shot his neighbors. Patrol officers heard the shots and rushed to the scene, where they discovered a 45-year-old man and 42-year-old woman shot in the back of the head laying in an alley. Both were pronounced dead at the scene.

The gunman, their 69-year-old neighbor, tells police the two were trying to jump his fence.

Police recovered the weapon and have taken the neighbor into custody. No formal charges have been made at this time.
