Halloween vandals damage car windows in East Falls, Upper Darby

Halloween meant tricks, not treats, for some residents in Philadelphia's East Falls neighborhood as vandals damaged more than a dozen cars.

Police say cars parked up and down the 4200 block of River Road had their windows smashed, leaving glass covering the sidewalks.

Residents were moving their cars from the area Thursday morning, facing hundreds of dollars in repairs on what was supposed to be a fun day for families in costumes collecting candy.

East Falls wasn't the only area hit by vandals as police in Upper Darby say about 10 cars had their windshields damaged near Bywood Elementary School.

Police there also say someone was using a BB gun to shoot at cars near the police station, shattering windows. In some of those instances, people were still in their cars.

Anyone with information about these incidents is asked to contact police.
