Holmesburg family's home robbed just weeks before Christmas

"They took all his money and everything - what am I supposed to do for my kids for Christmas?"

At 3:30 a.m. robbers armed with guns stormed a home along the 4600 block of Oakmont Street, according to police.

Amber Gault said, "Three guys, all black with face all covered up, came in with guns… sent me my sister-in-law and my 3 kids upstairs."

A chilling nightmare for children ages 5, 3 and 1.

Amber Gault says three more children were asleep upstairs when the gunmen raced through their Holmesburg home and hit the safe. This morning Gault reported her jewelry, cash and Christmas presents for her seven children - gone.

"It's so sad because my little ones believe in Santa and what am I gonna tell them on Christmas morning?"

Gault admits her family has had been in and out of trouble through the years and they were trying to get back on their feet -- while they don't know who was behind this brazen robbery - they also don't think it was random.

"It had to be somebody we know because how did they know we even had a safe in the house?"

Police say no one was physically hurt - but the victims tell us they're emotionally shaken and hurting for their children who may not wake up to find presents under the tree this Christmas.

Investigators say at this point no arrests have been made - if you have a tip - give police a call.
