Husband charged in death of woman in Delran

Police in Delran Township, New Jersey have charged a man with the murder of his own wife.

According to police, Quentin S. Fortune, 37, has been charged with the murder of his wife, 54-year-old Cynthia Fortune.

Officers were called to the scene of a car accident late Tuesday night near Route 130 and Chester Avenue. When they arrived on scene, police found Cynthia on the ground on the driver's side of a sedan, with visible cuts to her neck and a knife nearby.

Cynthia Fortune was transported to Lourdes Medical Center where she was later pronounced dead.

Police say Cynthia's vehicle had collided with other cars on Route 130, and witnesses say the Quentin Fortune was seen getting out of the car and running towards a local business on the side of the road.

Officers responded to the Route 130 Diner and apprehended Fortune, who was wearing a just t-shirt, underwear and sneakers, without further incident.

Fortune has been charged with first degree murder, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, and possession of a weapon.

Bail was set in the amount of $300,000.
