Identical twins celebrate 100th birthday
LAFAYETTE, LA - It's not every day you meet a hundred-year-old, but how about hundred-year-old identical twins?
Albert and Elmer Pfeuffer celebrated their 100th birthday on Friday in Lafayette, Louisiana.
They enjoyed cake and punch with family and friends.
They were born on March 15, 1916, in Saginaw, Michigan.
Albert has lived in Lafayette with his wife Dot since 1960, and Elmer flew in from his home in Tucson, Arizona to celebrate.
The two brothers told stories and shared memories from their long lives.
They tricked a teacher by going as the other to class when they were youngsters, and shared a car when they first started driving.
In fact, Albert says he still drives around town at the age of 100.
When asked, what's the secret to a long and fruitful life, Albert answered, "Well, who knows? I guess just follow the path the Lord give us, and that's about it. And woke up every morning, and spent the day.
"Early on in the years, we were quite active. We did a lot of walking, a lot of running, a lot of sports, and that probably added some substance to the longevity."
Elmer has three children, six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Albert has three children, seven grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
