Jacksonville zookeeper hospitalized after making contact with rhino during training session

Jacksonville Zoo and Gardens confirmed on Tuesday that one of their zookeepers has been transported by ambulance after making contact with a male Southern white rhino.

They said that the rhino, Archie, and the zookeper made contact during a routine training session.

The staff member has reportedly been transported by ambulance for medical evaluation.

Archie was born in 1969 and has been at the zoo in Jacksonville since 1975.
