'Kind and gentle parents' die within hours of each other, leaving behind 6 children
(INSIDE EDITION) - A beloved husband and wife, who together raised six children, died hours apart in the same Alabama hospital in separate health-related incidents, relatives said.
Jennifer Norsworthy, 40, was rushed to the hospital after a blood clot formed in her sleep last Friday. Norsworthy, who had a history with the condition, could not be saved.
Her husband, 38-year-old Toby Norsworthy, died les than 48 hours later on Sunday of a heart attack, loved ones said on a GoFundMe page created to offset medical costs.
Toby's sister, Tabitha Washburn, told Al.com that Toby likely died because of the stress of losing the love of his life.
In a Facebook photo of the couple posted by Jennifer, she wrote, "A wonderful evening out with my hubby after a great day....could not love this man more!!! -- feeling blessed."
The pair had been together for more than 13 years after meeting in Alaska and then moving to Tennessee, before finally settling down in Alabama.
Together, they raised six children, including three from Jennifer's previous marriage: Quinten, 20; Riley, 17; and Bradley, 13; and their children together: Mickey, 11; Aurora, 9; and 6-year-old Lainie.
"They both had strong faiths in God, were vital members in their communities, and were such kind and gentle parents," the GoFundMe page read. "They will both be greatly missed by these communities, friends and family."
