Labelle, Gamble, Huff receive Marian Anderson Award, Tuesday night

CENTER CITY (WTXF) - Patti Labelle, Kenny Gamble and Leon Huff will be receiving the prestigious Marian Anderson Award, Tuesday night.

The awards are in honor of Marian Anderson, the esteemed opera singer and beloved Philadelphian.

It goes to artists whose work have contributed to our society and improved the world.

For the first time since 2008, more than one person is being honored at this year's awards.

Labelle is a Grammy-winning superstar, while Gamble & Huff are a Grammy-winning songwriting and record-producing team.

The ceremony starts at 8:30pm in the Kimmel Center's Verizon Hall.
